Kazakh Pilaf

This was another surprise. The ingredients were simple and none of them were secret. Despite the fact that we used a lot of vegetable oil, this pilaf was not oily at all. The only important thing that I can think of to account for the good taste was using high heat, which made the carrots sweet and the lamb juicy.
